Halloween Pumpkin Cookies

Halloween is tomorrow! I can't believe how fast it snuck up on me. I'm just getting back to cookie decorating and Halloween is already here.

I wanted to make some Halloween cookies but didn't have a lot of time. Do you know how many diapers you change with a newborn? It's crazy...and with a boy you do double because he will pee on you as soon as you put the new diaper under him.....SERIOUSLY!

So between diaper and wardrobe changes we don't have time for cookies that take forever to decorate.

Most techniques I learned when I first started cookie decorating were from The Adventures of Sweet Sugarbelle.  That is where I learned to make pumpkins with texture.

Not only can she transform one pumpkin cutter into different shaped pumpkins, but she gives you a step by step on giving them that extra texture. She really is a genius in the cookie world. You can see her tutorial here on the great pumpkin makeover.

For my pumpkin cookies I did Sugarbelle's step by step tutorial and then I added a little spider accent.

The spider makes the pumpkins a little spooky. Just wait for your pumpkin to dry then add the spider body with a #2 tip and the legs with a #1 tip and black royal icing. Super simple.

What Halloween treats have you all been baking up?
